Senior Research Project

For my pre-thesis class, I chose to embark on a semester long study of dead or dying malls in the United States. After weeks of research, I created a glossary which compiled key terms and places. From there I speculated a solution which could help revive dying malls: converting them into recreational spaces. I built on this solution by imagining a future where malls actually implemented these solutions and formed sponsored walking teams as well as tennis courts built into their interiors. Finally, I created a proposal by a conceptual government agency (the Mall Advisory and Rehabilitation Task-Force, or MART) to create a national registry of mall walking programs.
